Join one University at Buffalo student on a legendary journey filled with adventure as she sets off to find The Connection Wizard and connect to eduroam Wi-Fi.

Join the party

Having a solid Wi-Fi connection on campus is essential. Grab your device, brave the setup, and join the ranks of those who’ve already made the switch to eduroam. The Connection Wizard awaits!

Why this matters:

  • The UB Secure Wi-Fi network is being retired on May 19, 2025.
  • eduroam is the future: A global, secure Wi-Fi network used at universities worldwide.

About the video

"The Quest for the Wi-Fi Connection Wizard" takes a Lord of the Rings-style spin on a very real mission: getting connected to eduroam. In the video, students set off on an epic quest to find the Connection Wizard, who may be able to guide them through network connectivity. Their goal? Wi-Fi glory.

Thanks to UB students Julia Pitarresi, Nick Cross, Sachi Ramaswamy, the UB Cosplay Club, and Information Technology's Richard Letts for lending their talents to the video.

Pixel art scene of five fantasy characters—bard, rogue, cleric, wizard, and barbarian—posing on ancient ruins by the water at sunset. The crumbling stone columns and warm orange sky give the setting an epic, nostalgic feel reminiscent of retro RPG video games.
