As you prepare to graduate from UB, it's important to understand what digital services you can continue to use for up to six months after graduation. Here’s what you need to know:

UBmail

You can continue to use your @buffalo.edu email address for six months after graduation. As the six-month timeframe approaches, be sure to notify anyone who emails you and update your accounts to a new non-UB email address.

UBITName

After graduation, you can still log into the UBITName Manager to manage your UBITName and password. There, you can update your recovery options and security settings to ensure continued access to your MyUB, and HUB.

Software & services

After six months, you will also lose access to UB-provided software and services, including:

  • Microsoft 365 (Office apps, OneDrive, etc.)
  • UBbox
  • Zoom (UB license)
  • UB Learns
  • Panopto (Recorded lectures & videos)
  • UBfs (UB File Service)
  • UB personal website

Make sure to save files, emails, contacts and calendar events before the six-month grace period ends.

Remember to update third-party logins with your new non-UB email address and manage any subscription linked to your @buffalo.edu account.

Need help?

The UBIT Help Center is here to help with your technology needs at UB. Current UB students can also reach out to the UB Tech Squad for help; they can meet you anywhere on North or South Campus.

UB Information Technology News keeps UB students, faculty, and staff informed about their IT services and showcases creative collaborations between UBIT and the campus community. Published by the Office of the Chief Information Officer at UB and distributed via email as The Monthly Download. Edited by Diana Tuorto, IT Communication and Engagement, dianatuo@buffalo.edu.
