How to Apply

All applicants to this program must be in their final year of medical school or beyond.

UB’s Department of Ophthalmology accepts the application form provided by the Ophthalmology Matching Program’s Central Application Service. All applicants must have an ophthalmology matching program number.

All residents must have satisfactorily completed a post-graduate clinical year (PGY-1) in an accredited program approved by the ACGME or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. All applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of New York.

The selection process is conducted by a committee composed of full-time and part-time faculty as well as the chief resident.

A virtual interview is required. After applications have been reviewed by the screening committee, individuals selected to be interviewed will be notified.

The department does not sponsor H1-B visas.

Your application from the CAS must be received in our office no later than October 1.

Interview dates this year will be November 6 and 7, 2020.

Last year we received a total of 380 applications; 34 applicants were interviewed for three spots.
