This award recognizes one program director annually who best exemplifies qualities of a leader, effective educator, resident advocate and role model.
Program directors of a University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences-sponsored accredited residency or fellowship program with three or more years of experience are eligible.
The nominee should make outstanding contributions to UB Graduate Medical Education through local, regional or national participation and collaboration on committees, work groups and/or presentations in support of peer to peer education, exhibiting nominee’s leadership qualities.
A minimum of three narratives must be submitted.
Each nomination should address the award criteria, in 500 words or less, and provide details in support of the statement: “Why My Nominee Is Deserving of the GME Program Director Award of Excellence”.
Submissions that do not cite examples noted in the award
criteria will not be considered.

An award of $900 will be granted to an exemplary candidate restricted to registration at or travel to a national meeting.
