graduate. Krishnan Chakravarthy, one of our MD/PhD candidates,
coordinated a collaboration between UB and the Centers for Disease
Control for RNA virus research and founded a nanotech startup to
develop his research for potential treatments.

facilities. The UB Clinical and Translational Research Center,
which opened in 2012, provides innovative research tools, training
and coordination to support collaborative research.
Pursue your interests with support from faculty and resources in
your field. You can earn your PhD in the traditional sciences; in
chemical, biological or mechanical engineering; or in cancer
research at the world-renowned Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Our school’s shared core instrumentation and transgenic
animal facilities support research by UB faculty and investigators
at our affiliated
institutions. These facilities not only house state-of-the-art
equipment but in many cases also provide data analysis, training
and grant writing consultation.
