Three undergraduate seniors in our school have received a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
This highly competitive honor is given in recognition of a student's ability to integrate outstanding academic achievements with accomplishments in leadership, community service, creative and performing arts or athletics.
Congratulations to our school's recipients:
Desirée Albert of Rochester, N.Y., graduates with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences and a bachelor of arts degree in dance. She was a member of the University Honors College and a recipient of the Prentice Family Foundation’s Western New York Prosperity Scholarship. Albert has accumulated more than 400 hours of clinical experience at area hospitals and has been accepted into medical school at UB. In addition, she was a member of UB’s prestigious Zodiaque Dance Company.
Felicia Cao of Buffalo graduates with a bachelor of arts degree in Asian studies and a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry. Cao has conducted research on microRNA signaling pathways for the past three years and plans to become a physician-scientist. She has been awarded two grants and has co-authored two papers and a manuscript. She has volunteered at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospice Buffalo and is interested in promoting literacy.
Crystal Sterling of Hermon, N.Y., graduates with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences. She has served as community engagement coordinator for Phi Eta Sigma and activities coordinator for UB Against Cancer. She has conducted research on minority access to health care as well as on maternal perceptions of fetal heart monitoring. Sterling served as a respite care provider and has volunteered at free health clinics.
