Gregory S. Cherr, MD, associate professor of surgery, is one of only six medical educators nationwide to receive a scholarship from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to attend the prestigious Harvard Macy Institute Program for Educators in 2012.
The Gold Foundation grant supports scholars who are developing educational projects aimed at achieving humanistic patient care that can be replicated across various health care settings.
The funding also supports Cherr’s collaboration with Jeffrey Myers, DO, director of the Behling Simulation Center. The two physicians are working to create interdisciplinary leadership/teamwork simulation scenarios for medical students and trainees from all five of UB’s health sciences schools.
