The series will interest scientists, clinicians and graduate trainees who study the biology and pathobiology of the nervous system, the brain and the sensory modalities.

“We began this series because we wanted to bring top neuroscientists to UB, not only so we can learn from them, but also so they can learn more about the diversity of outstanding research being conducted here,” says Steven J. Fliesler, PhD, vice chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and a research health scientist at the Buffalo VA Medical Center.

Besides the Department of Ophthalmology, the series co-sponsors are the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the Neuroscience Program and the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute.
