During her recent treatment in North Carolina for breast cancer and subsequent complications, Stephanie observed many communication mishaps that affected her care, leading her to decide to write a memoir, "Whole Again," about her experience. Two of her essays on cancer treatment have been published: "Is It Okay to Fire My Oncologist?" in the Journal of Oncology Practice and "But You Said I Wouldn't Need Radiation" in the Journal of Participatory Medicine. Stephanie recently spoke in a Cancer.net podcast on physician-patient communication.
