Advising Today`s Graduate Student Workshop

This workshop will provide faculty and postdoctoral scholars with an increased awareness of individual and group perspectives, experiences, and identities; and of structural and systemic causes that contribute to equity issues for underrepresented groups. Through the use of evidence-based peer to peer strategies, participants will learn how to advance an inclusive culture in their graduate program and department, and build stronger communities and teams.
Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m..
This workshop is part of the collaborative research grant project AGEP Transformation Alliance: CIRTL AGEP – Improved Academic Climate for STEM Dissertators and Postdocs to Increase Interest in Faculty Careers. Participating Institutions include: Iowa State University (lead), Boston University, University of Maryland – College Park, Michigan State University, Cornell University, Northwestern University, University at Buffalo, Howard University, University of Georgia, University of Texas at Arlington. Funded by the NSF's Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP).
