Getting ready for teaching in the fall? Participate in our upcoming workshops to learn about essential teaching tools like Panopto and Zoom, brand new classroom technology and more.

Throughout August 2020, UBIT and campus partners are hosting a series of workshops and demonstrations to help faculty take advantage of UB teaching technology.

The sessions below include a mix of virtual and in-person sessions. In-person sessions will be appropriately distanced, and participants are required to wear masks. To register for an in-person session, click the link in the title.

Virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom. Click the link in the title of a virtual session to join at the start of the session.

Join a workshop on UB teaching technology

  • August 18, 3 - 4:30 p.m. – Workshop: technologies for large classes
    • Virtual session (click the link above to join). Learn about strategies for using technology to manage larger classes. Explore the differences between Zoom, Webex and Panopto to make the best choices for your instructional needs.
  • August 19, 10 - 11:30 a.m. –  Workshop: Panopto recording software & Q&A
    • Virtual session (click the link above to join). Get comfortable navigating Panopto’s basic functions and tools, learn how to set up your UB Learns course to use Panopto, and participate in an open Q&A session with UB technology experts.
  • August 26, 9 - 11 a.m., 11 - 1 p.m., 1 - 2 p.m., 2 - 4 p.m. – In-Class Technology Open House
    • In-person session (Capen 262; click the link above to register). Get 15 minutes of hands-on experience with the upgraded technology in a "better/best" classroom with a UB technology expert on hand to answer your questions.
  • August 26, 2 - 3 p.m. – Using Panopto with UB Learns
    • Virtual session (click the link above to join), focused on embedding Panopto videos in your UB Learns courses, and advanced topics like using Panopto's course copy feature, assignment folders and more.
