Raul Vazquez, MD '89

Distinguished Medical Volunteer 

Dr. Raul Vazquez who graduated in 1989 and is a primary care physician, and founder and chief executive officer of the Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network, as well as the founder and president of Urban Family Practice. He has built an integrative primary care model that serves the black and brown communities.

Over this past year, he has led significant efforts in educating and vaccinating the community to protect them from COVID. As he continues to influence and touch so many people - we are proud to be able to recognize Dr. Vazquez for his commitment to UB, community health and to families in the local community. 

Dr. Vazquez opened Urban Family Practice in 1996. As president of GBUAHN, he leads a team of experts with 40 years of combined medical experience providing care to the poor through a single physician-patient relationship. He serves as the Governor's appointed representative to the WNY Regional Economic Development Council, and the NYS Medical Advisory Committee. He served as President of the Buffalo Chapter of the National Medical Association and is incoming president of the Medical Alumni Association in 2021.
