Evidence-Based. Life-Changing. Real reviews and testimonials from our summerMAX participants.
Our studies show that children who participate in summerMAX often make meaningful improvements in areas like making friends, understanding social cues, managing emotions, and reducing autism-related challenges.
The summerMAX program, developed by the Institute for Autism Research, is a structured summer program that helps children with autism build social and communication skills. Unlike many programs, it has been carefully studied in multiple clinical trials. These studies show that children who participate often make meaningful improvements in areas like making friends, understanding social cues, managing emotions, and reducing autism-related challenges. The level of improvement is considered strong compared to similar programs and research has found that these gains can last for years after the program ends. Importantly, the program has also been shown to work not just in research settings, but in real-world community programs, making it both effective and practical for families. Previous summerMAX participants consistently report that the program made a noticeable difference in their ability to socialize and adapt to changing environments.
