Morrison Alumni Summer Research Fellowship in Neurosurgery

Our program is for UB medical students interested in neurosurgery. It takes place the summer between first and second year of medical school.

You will be paired with a faculty mentor to complete a research project in neurosurgery. At the end of the fellowship, you will have the opportunity to present your work to faculty and peers in the department and at the school-wide Medical Student Research Forum.

Program Dates

10 weeks, from June to August, 2024.

Award Amount

$3,500

Eligibility

You must be:

  • A first-year medical student
  • Available to participate for the entire 10 weeks

How to Apply

Interested UB medical students should submit a letter of intent and curriculum vitae (CV) to our coordinator of medical student rotations (contact information below).

Your letter of intent should be no longer than one page and include:

  1. Your contact information
  2. Why are you interested in neurosurgery?
  3. Why are you interested in research?
  4. What do you hope to gain from this experience?
  5. What are 3 of your strengths and 3 weaknesses?
  6. Any other information that you think would be helpful.

Application Deadline

You must apply by March 11, 2024.

Award Notification

Candidates will be notified by April 1, 2024.
