The Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition provides evaluation and diagnosis for infants, children and adolescents with diseases involving the gastrointestinal tract and/or liver as well as nutrition support services.

Education and Training

Our division is actively involved in the education of both residents and medical students.


Residents in the gastroenterology rotation observe and perform procedures, perform consultations on hospitalized children and attend clinic sessions.


Our faculty conduct basic and clinical research, publish their research results in nationally recognized journals and contribute to national policy. We are committed to work that will uncover the causes of diseases, find treatments for diseases and study the effect of medications on diseases.

Clinical Care

We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of nutritional and gastrointestinal problems, including:

  • inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis)
  • irritable bowel disease
  • reflux disease
  • chronic diarrhea
  • constipation
  • liver diseases
  • celiac disease
  • eosinophilic esophagitis
  • nutrition
  • obesity
  • failure to thrive
  • abdominal pain
