We are committed to admitting applicants of the highest quality from diverse backgrounds.
Our program has 6 residency positions and we recruit for 2 positions each academic year. We interview approximately 30 candidates per year.
We accept applications for our fellowship program through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Mid-November is the cutoff date for applications in this July-cycle program.
The postdoctoral education prerequisite is three years of general pediatric residency training. You should be eligible for a New York State training certificate or permanent medical license and hold U.S. citizenship, permanent residency or a J-1 or H-1B visa.
Successful applicants consistently demonstrate above average board examination scores; consequently, failure of one or more exams is not commensurate with a successful application.
You must submit at least three letters of recommendation, a personal statement and documentation of USMLE or COMLEX-USA scores.
Review of applications by the program and associate program directors begins immediately following the opening of the ERAS season.
If our fellowship committee selects your application, you’ll receive an email to set up an interview. The itinerary for the day varies somewhat, but all full-time pediatric critical care medicine faculty will meet with each candidate, as well as the two part-time faculty members and unit/hospital leadership in nursing, respiratory services and ECMO.
You will also meet for a hospital tour and off-campus lunch with our current fellows. We interview candidates from August through December.
