The Division of Vascular Surgery participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We match with one resident each year. Apply through ERAS ERASĀ® Program for Institutions | AAMC.
All application material must be completed and submitted prior to scheduling an interview. Applications are reviewed at the end of September when ERAS opens.
Our selection process aims to maximize applicant-program fit and ensure all applicants have an equitable opportunity to demonstrate their skills and capabilities. High-potential candidates will be asked to respond to an additional prompt that is reviewed by the Program Director. Candidates will then be selected from that pool to schedule an interview.
We hold two (2) interviews days that take place in November and December. Interviews will be conducted in-person.
Scheduled applicants will be invited to attend an optional meet and greet with current residents and fellows the evening prior to interviews. The interview day includes a brief presentation given by the program director, interviews with faculty members including the program director and associate program director, interactions with our current residents, and a tour of the Buffalo General Medical Center/GVI facilities. Faculty interviewers have been equipped with the knowledge and skills to conduct structured, unbiased, and job-related interviews so that all candidates have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their competencies.
