Guillaume Farah, MD, says the mentorship program “has made me feel even more supported by the faculty within the department.”
“The ability to have one-on-one time with a faculty member to help steer me in the right direction with my personal and professional goals within urology has made my transition throughout residency smoother,” he says.
Dr. Farah is mentored by residency program director Teresa L. Danforth, MD, and says the mentor/mentee relationship they have formed has been invaluable in his journey through residency.
“Dr. Danforth has helped me realize my specific passions in urology and what I want out of my future career,” Dr. Farah says. “She has also assisted in my personal growth and self-confidence as a I have gone through different milestones within the program.”
Dr. Farah says he encourages future residents to be open with their mentor with what they are looking for in their residency.
“The mentor is there to answer any questions and provide support,” he says. “Don’t be afraid to open up and express any specific concerns or topics you would like to discuss.”
