Research and Facilities

Our research enterprise encompasses a broad array of basic, translational, and clinical outcomes studies. Scientists self-associate with focus groups to investigate human disease and are supported by cutting-edge technologies and core instrumentation facilities.

From the basic science laboratories to the school’s core facilities, our research facilities were designed to promote collaboration between and among groups with varying expertise. Featuring abundant natural light, our research labs have been equipped with the most current models of lab equipment, including incubators, biosafety cabinets, freezers, high-speed centrifuges, water purification systems, and some of the most advanced instrumentation available in the field of imaging and cell sorting, which significantly extends research capabilities.

Our building, at 955 Main Street, aligns our medical education, research, and clinical care with our clinical and research partners — including Buffalo General Medical Center, Oishei Children’s Hospital, the Gates Vascular Institute, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute and UBMD Physicians Group practices in Conventus.
