Translational Research

Our translational research programs have resulted in significant advancements in medicine that have led to lifesaving treatments and improved quality of life for people around the world.

A primary goal of our school is to foster this legacy of accomplishment by bringing together physicians and researchers in a collaborative effort to deliver state-of-the-art clinical care, produce major breakthroughs on the causes and treatment of disease, and spin-off new biotechnology businesses.

UB is leading the Buffalo Clinical and Translational Research Center, which is comprised of 11 educational, healthcare and research institutions and four community partners in Buffalo and the Western New York region.

Our school is home to a number of internationally recognized translational research programs.

The Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR) is UB’s interface between the inventive work of laboratory research and the applied commercial development that brings the benefits of that research to market.
