Professional Summary:

I am a board-certified internist and geriatrician with over two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. I currently serve as the Section Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and the Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at the University at Buffalo, where I oversee the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive training programs across three major teaching hospitals: Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo General Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In my dual role as UBMD Hospital Medicine Site Program Director at Erie County Medical Center, I work to integrate geriatrics principles into hospital-based medicine with a focus on interdisciplinary care and complex patient management.

In addition to program administration, I am an active Clinical Assistant Professor in both the Divisions of Geriatrics and Hospital Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where I teach medical students, residents, and fellows. My teaching emphasizes the clinical application of geriatric syndromes, comprehensive geriatric assessments, and high-value care for older adults.

I also contribute to national educational standards in geriatrics as a member of the Geriatric Medicine Item Writing Task Force for the American Board of Internal Medicine. In this capacity, I help ensure the validity and rigor of board certification and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) examinations by developing assessment items that reflect contemporary knowledge and competencies in geriatric medicine.

My academic interests also include research and medical writing, with recent contributions to peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter addressing health disparities in geriatrics.
