UB and the Western New York community benefit by engaging and participating in a wide spectrum of clinical trials and research studies that investigate innovative approaches to the prevention and treatment of new and prevailing conditions and diseases, and improve our quality of life.
Successful clinical trials and research studies at UB have researched such topics such as:
- the role of calorie-restricted diets on aging
- the use of insulin in cardiovascular health
- the positive correlation between certain blood components and the risk of developing pre-diabetes
- safety testing for a vaccine against Hepatitis B
- investigations of a new drug-delivery system using nanocrystals
