Dr. Behrens is an associate professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine. He serves as the Chief of Service for Emergency Medicine at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Originally from Germany, he has been calling the Buffalo area home since 1999. He graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and completed Residency in Emergency Medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Dr. Behrens is the Emergency Medicine Lead Physician for the Buffalo Sabres Hockey Team of the NHL.
