Updated April 30, 2021

Various local news outlets reported on commencement for the graduating class of 2021 at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The ceremony was held outdoors, with safety precautions in place. Participants wore masks and seating was social distanced. The Buffalo News covered the event with a photo essay. WIVB reported, “This is the first of UB’s many graduations, and this one felt particularly fitting, as these young adults who have studied science and medicine completed their degrees while in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic. And many of them will go on to continue fighting it. Family and friends are thrilled to have been able to watch these students get their degrees.”
