Office of Communications Wins AAMC Award for Psychiatry Site

The Office of Communications has received the highest honor from the Association of American Medical College’s Group on Institutional Advancement (AAMC-GIA) for its transformation of the Department of Psychiatry website.

UB Among Select Group Recognized

The AAMC-GIA Award for Excellence recognizes the most creative and effective approaches used to promote academic medicine in the United States.

Only a few institutions won the award in 2013, making UB’s accomplishment that much more notable, explained Awards Chair David B. Anderson, associate dean for advancement at University of North Carolina School of Medicine

“Your entry represents the best of the best,” he said.

Top Honors in Electronic Communications

The Office of Communications won the award in the electronic communications/website category.

The group launched the psychiatry department site in the summer of 2012.
