Li will serve on the division’s executive committee, assuming a leadership role in assisting researchers interested in the behavioral effects of drugs. His three-year term begins July 1.

ASPET consists of nearly 5,000 pharmacological researchers working to develop disease-fighting medicines and therapeutic agents.

Seeking New Methods of Pain Relief

Li's primary research interest involves seeking safe, effective and novel pharmacotherapy for pain, including new analgesics with novel mechanisms of action and combination therapy pairing opioids with other analgesics.

A member of ASPET since 2007, he won the society’s Young Scientist Travel Award in 2007 and 2009 and received second place for postdoctoral poster in 2009.
