A lecture by Kyle Burger, Ph.D., Professor of Nutrition and Associate Chair for Research at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Burger is a faculty candidate in the Division of Behavioral Medicine, Pediatrics. His research interest focuses on the neural, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of food reinforcement and how those drive decision-making and eating habit formation. Dr. Burger’s lab, the Neuropsychology of Ingestive Behavior Laboratory (NIBL), uses functional MRI in combination with implicit cognitive-behavioral tests, perceptual assessments, as well as measures of physiology, e.g., appetitive hormones.
