This workshop will teach learners how to acquire, handle and publish sensitive health data, including Protected Health Information. They will learn the risks and repercussions of a data breach. We will also investigate how to write IRB applications that respect autonomy and display best practice in data management and security. We will use case studies to emphasize pitfalls that researchers and research staff can fall into that would lead them to unknowingly be complicit in a data breach.
This workshop series is free and open to all students, fellows, faculty, and staff at UB and the Buffalo Translational Consortium.
