Dear medical students,

I would like to provide a few important financial aid updates and ask that you review the information below carefully.

M2–M4 Legacy Students – Grad PLUS Loans

If you are an M2, M3, or M4 legacy student and are expecting a Federal Grad PLUS Loan, but do not see the loan posted to your HUB account, please email me as soon as possible at mjg33@buffalo.edu so I can review your account.

M1 Students and Non-Legacy Students – Private Loans

If you are an M1 student or a non-legacy student and are expecting a private educational loan, but do not see it posted to your HUB account, please email me at mjg33@buffalo.edu so I can verify the status of your loan.

To assist students who may need to borrow a private educational loan, I have attached a PowerPoint presentation that provides an overview of several private loan options available to medical students. The presentation includes information on lenders, loan features, and other factors to consider when comparing loan options.

Highmark Student Health Insurance

If you have accepted the Highmark Student Health Insurance Plan, please complete and upload the following Budget Increase Graduate/Professional Request Form along with a copy of your Highmark insurance bill through the Student Upload Center so we can review your request to increase your Cost of Attendance. 

Budget Increase Graduate/Professional Request Form

If you have already submitted the Budget Increase Request Form, please obtain a copy of your Highmark insurance bill and upload it to the Student Upload Center as soon as possible so your request can be processed.

If you are not planning to enroll in the Highmark Student Health Insurance Plan, please be sure to submit the insurance waiver by the applicable deadline. Students who do not complete the waiver will be automatically enrolled in the Highmark Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the associated charges.

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response to your email. I will respond as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience as I work through all inquiries.
