My work focuses on the role of staphylococcal infections in the development and manifestations of autoimmune diseases. I am primarily attempting to ascertain autoimmunity results in increased susceptibility to skin infecitons by pathogens such as S aureus and if infection can promote further development of an autoimmune phenotype.
