Our robust research enterprise has the potential to develop information systems that expand knowledge in the biomedical sciences and enhance health care processes.

  • Areas of Research
    11/17/16
From developing biomedical ontologies to designing clinical information systems, we conduct studies that provide the data infrastructure necessary to perform translational and clinical genomic research more efficiently.

  • Natural Language Understanding Laboratory
    1/23/18
We use a high-throughput phenotyping system to rapidly assign ontology terms to available content or an input expression from a subject matter expert or potential trial participant.
  • Electronic Health Record Laboratory
    4/23/18
In this lab, medical students receive hands-on experience with the most familiar and widely used electronic health record (EHR) in the country.
  • SCoRe – Scalable Computing Research Group
    11/17/16
We accelerate scientific discovery and innovation by leveraging advanced cyberinfrastructures that enable fast, accurate exploration of large-scale biological and biomedical data.
  • Core Facilities
    11/17/16
Our school’s shared core instrumentation and transgenic animal facilities support research by UB faculty and investigators at our affiliated institutions. These facilities not only house state-of-the-art equipment but in many cases also provide data analysis, training and grant writing consultation.
  • Research Centers and Institutes
    11/17/16
Researchers from cutting-edge centers and institutes join our teams, contributing and sharing their distinctive expertise.
