General Obstetrics and Gynecology

We are board-certified and board-eligible physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders associated with pregnancy and in disorders of the female reproductive system.

Education and Training

We participate extensively in educating residents in the departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine and are active in the education of medical students at all levels of their education. 

We supervise you during residency in your continuity clinics through the Women’s Health Center at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

In your obstetrics rotations, you will learn to manage labor, triage and emergency department patients, with your responsibilities gradually increasing throughout all four years of your training.

You will be trained in obstetrical services including:

  • evaluation and management of normal labor
  • spontaneous normal vaginal deliveries
  • repair of simple episiotomy
  • high-risk screening
  • basic fetal monitoring
  • sonography
  • basic prenatal care
  • circumcision
  • delivery of preterm and multifetal gestations
  • repeat and complex cesarean sections
  • operative vaginal deliveries
  • complicated vaginal laceration repairs
  • cesarean sections
  • operative deliveries with low forceps and vacuum extraction

During your in-office and surgical gynecology training you will become proficient evaluating and managing common and complex gynecological issues, performing ambulatory procedures and educating patients on preventative health management.

You will be trained in gynecological services including:

  • colposcopy
  • conization
  • biopsies
  • placement and removal of all long-acting, reversible contraceptive devices
  • ectopic pregnancy
  • ovarian torsion
  • severe pelvic infections
  • uterine bleeding related to medical comorbidity and malignancy
  • pelvic masses
  • laparoscopic and hysteroscopic sterilization
  • operative hysteroscopy
  • endometrial ablation
  • laparoscopic adnexal surgery
  • total laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • abdominal and vaginal approaches to hysterectomy
  • dilation and curettage
