Continuity Clinics

You will manage a panel of both high- and low-risk obstetric patients for one-half day per week, under attending supervision, throughout your four years of training.

Working in the Women’s Health Center within Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, you also will develop your skills in caring for routine and complex gynecological issues and providing preventative health services.

Procedures Learned

You can expect a rich experience performing in-office procedures, including:

  • placing IUD’s/and implantable birth control devices
  • colposcopy
  • cervical conization
  • endometrial biopsy
  • pessary fitting and management

Caseload

You will see the following number of patients each half-day session:

  • PGY-1: 6-8
  • PGY-2: 10-12
  • PGY-3: 10-12
  • PGY-4: 10-12

Patient Population

You will care for women of all ages who present for low- and high-risk obstetrical care, routine and complicated gynecologic care and preventive care.

You will serve predominantly an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population. Further, you will care for a significant refugee population who come from multiple regions of the world.
