The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences provides a
broad-based clinical education in both ambulatory and hospital
settings with a strong core curriculum in primary care and an
exposure to all the specialties.
Our curriculum provides a general medical professional education
that permits you to learn the fundamental principles of medicine,
to acquire skills of critical judgment based on education and
experience and to develop an ability to use principles and skills
wisely in solving problems of health and disease. Emphasis is
placed on your ability to learn through self-directed, independent
study throughout your professional life.
We select students who possess the intelligence, integrity, and personal and emotional characteristics that are considered necessary to become excellent and effective physicians.
Provides you with an opportunity to combine intensive scientific
training with medical school experience. The MSTP curriculum
integrates rigorous clinical and research experiences and provides
you with the skills needed for an academic career path.
A six-year residency program sponsored by the School of Dental
Medicine and conducted jointly with the Graduate Medical-Dental
Education Consortium of Buffalo, the School of Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences and three university-affiliated hospitals.
Graduates earn their Doctor of Medicine degree and a certificate of
proficiency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
This highly competitive program allows you to earn both degrees in a five-year period in cooperation with the UB School of Management.
This combined program allows you to earn an MD and a
Master’s Degree in Public Health in a five- to six-year
period. Admission is limited and applications are made during the
second year of medical school.
