The ninth annual Biochemistry Research Day was held May 9, 2011, at the Buffalo/Niagara Marriott Hotel.

The Elizabeth Olmsted Ross keynote speaker was John A. Tainer, PhD.

A senior scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Tainer is also a professor of structural biology at The Scripps Research Institute.

His research focuses on the characterization of keystone complexes, conformational changes and interfaces for macromolecular assemblies and machines.
