New Faculty in 4 Departments Bring Broad Experience to School

Nine faculty members with diverse backgrounds and expertise have joined the school’s faculty during the past several months.

New faculty include:

Department of Medicine

Andrew Bain, MD, is a clinical assistant professor specializing in gastroenterology.

He completed fellowships in advanced endoscopy and gastroenterology at the University of California and directs advanced endoscopic services at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Lee Chaves, PhD, has expertise in immunology and nephrology.

He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago and joins UB as a research assistant professor.

Grace Dy, MD, is a clinical assistant professor who specializes in hematology and oncology.  She completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

Wen Wee Ma, MD, is an assistant professor who specializes in hematology and oncology.

He has been recognized as a fellow of UB’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

Anthony Martinez, MD, is a clinical associate professor who specializes in addictions, gastroenterology and hepatology.

He was previously an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

 

 

Department of Family Medicine

Min Yang, MD, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor, who completed her residency in family medicine and her PhD in microbiology at UB.

Her clinical practice focuses on preventive care and the comprehensive management of patients with multiple comorbidities.

Department of Anesthesiology

Carin Tauriello, MD, joins UB as a clinical instructor. Her medical degree is from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Department of Emergency Medicine

Joseph Bart, DO, is an assistant professor who completed his residency at UB.

Juliana Wilson, DO, is a clinical instructor. She completed her residency at UB.
