Urology ’16

I didn’t know what to expect of Buffalo when I initially applied. Like most applicants, I hoped to just match into a good program. When I finally had my interview at Buffalo, I realized that this program had everything I needed, which included great training, affordability, and convenience.

But what really drew me into this program were the residents. I had a great experience during my interview because of the time and effort that each resident spent on discussing their program and allowing me to ask my questions.

Since being here, I have been amazed by how much hands-on training there is at this program. Our faculty knows that for us to be trained well, we have to be extensively involved with the cases. They supervise and guide us without taking over the cases. Their end goal in every case is to make sure that we learned something from that case that will make us into better residents, and eventually better practicing surgeons.

I am happy here in Buffalo, and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. If I had to do it all over again, this program would still be my top choice.

Our five-year urology residency program prepares our trainees to safely and effectively care for patients. We help our residents develop the skills and knowledge they need to practice robotic surgery and all urologic procedures. We are known for our distinguished faculty, unparalleled training opportunities and compassionate patient care.
