How to Apply

We accept applications for our primary care sports medicine fellowship through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Eligibility

To apply, you must have:

  • graduated from an ACGME accredited residency program in family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine or medicine-pediatrics
  • not retaken either step one or two of the USMLE more than once
  • passed the Clinical Skills Exam on your first attempt

If you’re an international medical graduate, you must have a certificate from the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) to be hired as a fellow in our program.

If you’re not a U.S. citizen, you must be eligible to obtain a J-1 visa.

Deadline

The time frame for applications and interviews follows that established by the National Resident Matching Program.

You may submit your application as soon as ERAS allows. We prefer to receive them as soon as possible.

Requirements

You must include with your completed ERAS application:

  • an official medical school transcript
  • your medical school diploma
  • your dean’s letter
  • three additional letters of recommendation, preferably from your program director and other faculty who have worked with you directly and can comment on your clinical knowledge, judgment and interpersonal skills
  • a current curriculum vitae
  • your USMLE scores
  • your ECFMG certification (if applicable)
  • your proof of visa status (if applicable)

Interviews

If our residency committee selects your application, you’ll receive an email to schedule an interview. Three faculty members will interview you.

During your visit, you’ll also tour our clinical training sites.

We interview candidates in October and November.
