The research programs within the department are undergoing steady expansion. For example, we recently obtained a core infrastructure grant from the National Eye Institute, and a research enhancement award from Research to Prevent Blindness.
Currently, research projects range from gene therapy to structural biology. We are particularly interested in new initiatives that bridge basic science with clinical problems.
