Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP)

The Department of Psychiatry oversees New York State’s largest CPEP, at Erie County Medical Center.

This site hosts our residency’s emergency psychiatry rotation, an intense but highly rewarding experience.

This hospital-based emergency psychiatric program offers care including evaluation, treatment and referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Staff include full-time psychiatrists, including a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, social workers and nurses. At least one full-time psychiatrist is available at all times, day or night.
