Underrepresented in Medicine Visiting Student Scholarship

We are committed to promoting medical student awareness of opportunities in academic urology and attracting to our residency program talented individuals who are committed to health care excellence.

We are proud to offer a one-time stipend of $1500 for a one-month visiting rotation to fourth-year medical students underrepresented in medicine.

You can apply the stipend toward travel, housing and incidental expenses related to a monthlong visiting rotation.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, you should:

  • have a strong interest in pursuing a career in urology
  • belong to a group of individuals underrepresented in medicine, including:
    • Black/African American
    • Hispanic/Latino
    • Native American/Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
    • persons with disabilities
  • be in your fourth year and in good academic standing
  • be enrolled in a medical school in the United States that is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education

Applicants must fulfill the eligibility requirements of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for students participating in visiting clerkships.

  • complete an application in VSLO for URO800 Sub-Internship in Clinical Urology
  • submit an updated curriculum vitae (CV)
  • submit a letter of interest specifically addressing why you would like to do a rotation in urology at the University at Buffalo and explaining your commitment to service and diversity in the field of urology (500 words or less).
