Professional Summary:

As an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, my research and scholarly activities are centered on advancing medical education and enhancing clinical training methodologies. My work is dedicated to fostering active learning, near-peer learning, and multidisciplinary approaches within medical education. I have a strong focus on curriculum development, aiming to design innovative strategies that engage learners, promote collaborative problem-solving, and ensure comprehensive skill acquisition.

My research interests include the implementation of gamification in medical education, the development of effective feedback mechanisms, and the integration of culturally responsive teaching practices. I have led numerous projects that explore the use of AI in medical education, the optimization of educator selection processes, and the enhancement of resident and fellow training programs.

Through my role as an educator and mentor, I have contributed to the professional growth of medical students, residents, and fellows, guiding them in their academic and clinical pursuits. My commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in my efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all.
