Clinical Associate Professor
Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences
Foot & Ankle Surgery; Orthopaedic Surgery
As an orthopaedic surgeon, my clinical expertise is in taking care of patients with orthopaedic foot and ankle problems. This includes both non-operative and operative care of patients with Achilles tendon disorders, posterior tibia tendon dysfunction, sports injuries, arthritis, forefoot reconstruction, bunions, toe deformities, neurologic disorders, and trauma. Presently I practice out of Erie County Medical Center, where I put forth nothing but tremendous effort into caring for my patients.
Currently I take part in research with our orthopaedic residents. One study involves radiographic stress testing and ankle fractures using cadaveric specimens, and the second study involves a retrospective clinical study of ankle blocks and hallux valgus surgery. Such research will allow us to improve our care of patients and help move the practice of orthopaedic surgery forward.
I have been a faculty member with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1990, upon completion of my medical training. I’ve enjoyed the sense of teamwork and professionalism working alongside my fellow faculty members. In particular I’ve enjoyed teaching our orthopaedic residents and medical students. All of the above have driven me to try to provide the best care I can give to my patients in an intellectually stimulating environment.
