Dr. Jennifer Pugh is Associate Chief of Emergency Medicine at Erie County Medical Center and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Buffalo. She assists with operational activities at ECMC, the region’s only Adult Level 1 Trauma Center. Dr. Pugh also works as an Emergency Medicine Physician for the Buffalo Sabres.
Dr. Pugh attended the State University of New York at Buffalo as an undergraduate student in the University Honors Program. She graduated from the Jacobs School of Medicine MD/MBA program in 2009 and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She served as chief resident of the program. She is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
She has been committed to providing high quality medical care to patients and diligently advocating for physician well-being as President of the ECMC Medical Dental Staff and a member of the Professional Development and Wellness Committee. Dr. Pugh has been dedicated to medical student and emergency medicine resident teaching and mentorship. She has presented to a national audience at the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC and published articles regarding the Cyber Attack at the Erie County Medical Center.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards including Buffalo Spree’s Top Doctors in WNY, NY ACEP Unsung Heroes of Emergency Medicine, Gold Humanism Honor Society, UBMD Emergency Medicine Teaching Attending of the Year Award, Chairman’s Lightning Award for Excellence in Difficult Airway Education and the New York American College of Emergency Physicians Young Physician Leadership and Advocacy Award.
