I am a medical hematologist and oncologist and provide comprehensive care towards patients with blood disorders and cancers. My interest lie in malignant hematology, breast cancers, melanomas and genitourinary cancers. I provide chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy. My focus is ensuring that patients are provided with the best possible treatment and are treated with the utmost compassion. I believe in clinical research and I have been involved in multiple pharmaceutical and co-operative group trials.
I work in a multidisciplinary approach, as I believe that is the best way to treat cancers. This includes surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other subspecialties. This ensures that all patients are provided with the best care.
I enjoy teaching students, residents and fellows. I mentor UB medical students, UB internal medicine residents, UB family medicine residents and hematology/oncology fellows. In my field along with teaching the fundamentals of blood disorders and management of cancers, I believe in teaching compassion and how to deal with difficult circumstances. My belief is if you can make a cancer patient smile and comfortable, then they are halfway there in their treatment journey and I instill that in future doctors and hematologists/oncologists.
