Le Roy students studying DNA as part of University at Buffalo project

The Daily News (Batavia) reported on a $1.3 million grant to Stephen A. Koury, PhD, research associate professor in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, which allows WNY high school students and teachers to learn about genomic sequencing. The story notes that the Metagenomics Education Partnership is between the Department of Biotechnical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences, New York State Area Health Education Center System, UB’s Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and the Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper with schools across a 14-county region of Western New York. The five-year grant will be able to support a total of 500 students.
