Location

The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo is located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus at 955 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203. The school is located directly above the Allen-Medical Campus rail station on the corner of High and Main streets.

Visitors can enter the building through the main entrance at the corner of Main Street and High Street, the back entrance on Washington Street or the entrace on Main and Allen Street. They will be required to buzz in and then stop at one of the security desks before entering the building.

The Office of Medical Admissions and Office of Student and Academic Affairs are located on the ground floor of the medical school. If entering through the main entrance on Main and High Street, visitors should walk directly toward the back of the building and find the offices located across from each other, close to the back doors. If entering through the back doors on Washington Street, visitors will see the office immediately to the right and left.

The Office of Medical Curriculum is located on the 7th floor of the medical school. When exiting the elevator, cross the bridge and turn left. The office is located at the end of the hall in the right-hand corner and is labeled 7162-7180.

Getting Here

  • Take the NFTA Rail/Bus

    Due to limited parking, we encourage you to park at the LaSalle Park-and-Ride Station or the University Park-and-Ride Station and take the rail to and from the Allen-Medical Campus Station. Trains depart weekdays beginning at 5:36 a.m. The last train arrives at the University Station at 12:20 a.m.

    The standard fare is $2 each way (cash only). Discounted fares are available to seniors and children.

    Many NFTA buses serve the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus directly or indirectly. The NFTA Trip Planner is useful tool for planning the best route to the medical school.

  • Driving

    From Route 33 West (Kensington Expressway)

    Exit at Goodell Street. Turn right onto Main Street. Our building is on the right, at the intersection of Main and Allen Streets.

    From I-190 North/I-190 South

    Exit at Elm Street and proceed to Goodell Street. Turn left onto Goodell Street and then right onto Main Street. Our building is on the right, at the intersection of Main and Allen Streets.

    From the Skyway

    Take the first exit to I-190 South and exit immediately at Elm Street. Turn left onto Goodell Street and then right onto Main Street. Our building is on the right, at the intersection of Main and Allen Streets.

    From Canada

    Take Peace Bridge Plaza to I-190 South. Make left onto Porter Avenue and follow circle to North Street to Main Street. Turn right at Main Street. Our building is on the left, at the intersection of Main and Allen Streets.

Parking

  • Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus

    Off-street and on-street parking is available near our building.

    We encourage you to park in the 854 Ellicott Street Ramp (behind Oishei's Childrens Hospital).

    Valet parking is available at the Gates Vascular Institute, Buffalo General, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and at the Doubletree Hotel.

  • South Campus

    Parking is available in the NFTA-Metro Park & Ride lot on the South Campus, near the NFTA University Metro Rail Station. The Metro Rail Allen Medical Campus Station is on the ground floor of our building.
