How to Apply

Our rigorous training program is competitive and selective: we accept 3 new fellows per year.

Submitting Your Application

On July 1, 2015 we will begin accepting applications for our fellowship through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Based on your eligibility, qualifications and references, we’ll decide whether to invite you for a personal interview.

Application Deadline

Submit your application for 2016 no later than Aug. 31, 2015.

Eligibility

To apply for our program, you must meet these qualifications:

  • possess a medical license as an MD, MBBS or DO
  • hold U.S. citizenship, permanent residency or a J-1 or H-1B visa
  • be a graduate of an ACGME accredited internal medicine training program or complete this training by the time you enter our program

Application Requirements

We require:

  • one letter of recommendation from your residency program director
  • two additional letters of recommendation
  • medical school transcripts
  • USMLE scores

If you are a graduate from a foreign medical school, you must also be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. 

Interviews

We conduct interviews in September and October.

During the interview process, you'll have opportunities to meet our current fellows and faculty, learn about our training sites and get acquainted with Buffalo.
