The prestigious award—made possible by a grant from the National Cancer Institute’s Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities—supports Rankin’s attendance at the AACR’s annual meeting, March 31 to April 4 in Chicago.

Rankin works in the laboratory of Rajendram Rajnarayanan, PhD, assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology.

She is a former participant of UB’s CLIMB Program.

“My goal is to be a physician-scientist,” Rankin says. “I hope to one day develop treatments that target tamoxifen-resistant breast cancers and triple-negative breast cancers, both of which are relatively vigorous and lack effective treatments.”
