  • Award of Excellence for Promoting Inclusion and Cultural Diversity
    4/9/19
    Sponsored by Jacob School’s Office of Inclusion & Cultural Enhancement, this honorary award acknowledges individuals whose actions, example and efforts contribute to a diverse, respectful environment at the university and in the Western New York community. Residents are eligible to apply.
  • Donald Cherr, MD, and Charles Schen, MD, Exemplary Patient-Care Award
    4/12/23
    This award honors a resident or fellow who demonstrates excellence in patient care.  Nominees must have an established record of exemplary humanistic, patient- and family-centered care as evidenced by letters of support from peers and program leaders, faculty, peer and student evaluations, and complementary activities (such as volunteerism or quality-improvement activities to promote patient-centeredness).
  • Evan Calkins, MD, Community Based Research Fellowship
    2/24/22
    Supports residents and junior faculty who conduct community-based research or quality improvement projects. The annual award encourages recipients to explore and discover the rewards and opportunities of community-based scholarship. Residents and junior faculty whose career goals are centered around clinical practice are encouraged to apply.
  • Eugene R. Mindell, MD, and Harold Brody, MD ’61, PhD, Clinical Translational Research Award

    Promotes and supports the discovery of new knowledge that is critical for the continued advancement of the medical profession and improvement of health care. To advance human health, scientific discoveries must be translated into practical applications. When such information is applied to the problems of health maintenance and cures for diseases, it could well provide new tools for developing innovative and effective therapies.
  • Thomas F. Frawley, MD, Research Fellowship Award
    4/12/23
    Supports medical or surgical residents and new graduates for whom research represents a primary personal interest and passion. The award is intended to offset research costs or personal expenses to help a resident pursue research on completion of his or her residency.
  • GME Program Director Award of Excellence
    8/19/20
    The award will recognize one program director annually who best exemplifies qualities of a leader, effective educator, resident advocate and role model.
  • GME Training Program Administrator Award of Excellence
    3/25/20
    The award will recognize a training program administrator who exhibits superb skills in the management of a residency or fellowship training program and contributes in a positive way to the learning environment of residents and fellows.
